Company retreat near Valencia

Two or three nights for the team, with nobody else in the house.

Staying away

Why stay the night

One day is enough to work. Two nights are what it takes for a team to talk about the things nobody talks about at the office.

In a hotel the group breaks up at six, everyone to their room. Here you have dinner at home and carry on talking by the fire. This is the hour when people say the things they did not say in the morning.

Seven to fourteen

How many

7 to 14 people sleeping, in seven named bedrooms with five bathrooms. It is the size of a committee or of a team that has to decide something: one table where everyone can hear each other without raising their voice.

If there are more than fourteen of you, write to us with the number of people and we will talk it through.

An example, not a programme

A two-night retreat

Day 1 · ArrivalStaggered arrivals through the day: nobody waits at the gate with a suitcase. First session in the garden room in the afternoon and dinner at home.
Day 2 · MorningBreakfast on the porch: bread baked that morning, eggs from the hens and fruit from the estate. Then work: each part of the group in its own place, as there are eight places to sit.
Day 2 · LunchA Valencian paella class over mandarin wood.
Day 2 · AfternoonFree time: pool, wood-fired hot tub, billiards or a walk around the estate. Or a trip to the Roman aqueduct at Peña Cortada, forty-five minutes away, with transport.
Day 2 · EveningDinner, then lingering at the table by the fire.
Day 3 · Wrap-upA last session in the morning, to close what has been decided. Then departure: the airport is five minutes away.

Twenty-four hours a day

If something happens, someone is there

Whoever organises a retreat is answerable for people other than themselves. They need to know that, whatever happens, someone will sort it out. Throughout the stay there is a team you can reach twenty-four hours a day, and the unexpected does not only come from the house: it also comes from the people who stay.

Two examples. An executive at a multinational tech company was at the villa when her husband had to fly back to New York urgently; we found the ticket ourselves and he left the next day, on the six a.m. flight. A group from the United Kingdom lost their flights to a British Airways strike: we helped them find seats the same day with other airlines and drove them ourselves to the airports at Alicante and Murcia.

Two agendas

What each person needs

A retreat has two agendas: the company’s and that of each person who comes, all the more so when the team arrives from several countries and everyone travels on their own.

Throughout the stay there is help twenty-four hours a day for any one-off need that comes up, including those of each person in the team: a transfer at an odd hour, a different meal, something to buy, a flight that has to be changed.

Why Valencia, and why here

Close to everything, with nobody else

Valencia airport has direct flights to the main European cities, and the villa is five minutes away. From November to February the average high ranges from 16 to 19 °C, with around 170 hours of sunshine a month and about four days of rain.

The city, with its food, its markets and its nightlife, is fifteen minutes away, and we arrange the transfers. And the house: seven hectares for one single team, with nobody else.

What people ask

How many days?

The minimum is two nights. Most teams come for two or three. You can arrive on a Tuesday and leave on a Thursday.

How much does it cost?

A two-night retreat for a team of up to 14 people, with the whole villa, breakfasts, lunches and dinners: from €3,639, VAT included, plus €250 for cleaning. Experiences, such as the paella class or the potter’s wheel, are extra.

Why hold the retreat near Valencia?

The airport is five minutes away and the centre of Valencia fifteen. And the villa is a seven-hectare estate for one group only: the team does not scatter across the city and nobody has to be moved from one place to another.

How do we get there?

By air, Valencia airport is five minutes away (3.5 km). We arrange transfers with our own drivers. By car, you park inside: there is room for twenty vehicles.

Can we work and unwind in the same place?

Yes. There are eight places to sit down and work, and between sessions the pool, the wood-fired hot tub, the billiard table and seven hectares to walk. Nobody takes the car.

Are there restaurants and nightlife nearby?

The centre of Valencia is fifteen minutes away, with its food, its markets and its neighbourhoods at night. We arrange the transfers there and back with our own drivers, so nobody has to drive.

Can you cater for special diets?

Yes. Tell us what each person needs and we will prepare it.

When is the best time to come?

All year round. In winter there are fires lit and the wood-fired hot tub; in summer, the pool. The house never closes.

What is the weather like from November to February?

The average high ranges from 16 to 19 °C, with around 170 hours of sunshine a month and about four days of rain. If it rains, the garden room is enclosed and climate-controlled.

And in summer, with the heat?

Air conditioning, cooling and heating, in every room, the climate-controlled garden room, the pool and the shade of the pergola. Outdoor activities are done in the morning or as the afternoon closes in.
